The two most famous pilots in the world vote for my petition

I have some wonderful news to share with everyone: The two most heroic pilots in the world have voted on my petition.

First, Captain Sully, he is the pilot of the first successful water landing on the Hudson River in New York, when he had lost both engines.

Second, Australia’s Captain De Crespigny, he is the most famous A380 pilot in the world. He and his co-pilots saved the Qantas A380 that had 80% of its systems degraded.

Read more about Captain Richard here (smh.com.au) and here (news.com.au), or you can watch my interview with Captain De Crespigny.

When I received an email and tweet from Captain Sully, I was so excited. If you are like my mum and don’t know this great pilot, please watch this video. I love his serious answers. I smiled when he answered the question about praying.

Both captains have sent me lovely emails of support and posted publicly on their Twitter and Facebook pages. It makes me feel that I am on the right track with my change.org petition.

Votes from pilots are even more important when you know the history. Back in the 1950’s when David Warren was trying to sell his idea to the aviation industry, the people who gave him the most resistance were the pilots and the Australian Government.
I have had hundreds of pilots sign my petition and send me emails and tweets of support. I think I can safely say I have the pilots on my side.

My Petition

Dr Warren is an amazing man. I hope you watch my video on David Warren and consider voting on my petition.

I think he is Australia’s greatest aviation hero. If you have Twitter, please retweet the two Twitter links above

Thank you for reading.

Keep going Eve, a genuine Aussie Invention needs to be rewarded and the naming of an Airport in his honour is a wonderful tribute to a remarkable man.

    Dear Eve,
You are a remarkable young lady for having the idea to name the Canberra airport after one of Australia’s unrecognized heroes and for your determination to mount such a sustained campaign to achieve your goal. Congratulations on gaining the supprt of Capt Sullenberger and Capt de Crespigny, You have aimed high and it paid off! My late father was a pilot in the RAAF during WW2 and relinquished his pilot’s licence at age 80. In fact, he flew both planes and gliders recreationally and instructed others to do so until then. His life motto was “always have a positive attitude”. His enemy was negativity. You are a young example of that attitude and I admire you for it. Best of luck with your ongoing campaign which I follow with interest. Go girl!! Helen Lees, Queensland.

And about time Australian invention got more recognition

I too use to be a pilot

    Eve:

I believe you can make the case the Dr. David Warren’s invention has made air travel much safer. When an aircraft accident or air safety incident occurs, it is imperative to determine the root cause so as to prevent or mitigate the problem(s) and contributing factors from reoccurring.

After-the-fact aircraft and pilot training improvements, as a result of flight data recorder information analysis, has saved many additional lives. Not only should an airport or terminal be dedicated in Dr. Warren’s honor, but perhaps he should be honored by the Queen and known as Sir David Warren.

Best of luck in your continuing efforts.
